What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Technician position at IMAGETEC LP?
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Repair, rebuild, and setup equipment prior to the copiers and printers that are being sent out to the customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Sets-up, performs PM's and completes most repairs on models trained.
- Insures equipment is set to the latest specifications.
- Checks and verifies incoming equipment daily.
- Sets up all demo and new machines.
- Assists field technicians and customers over the phone with any questions.
- Maintains equipment in corporate office.
- Performs equipment rebuild procedures for resale.
- Completes orientation training and initial model(s) training successfully.
- Backs up field service technicians on field service calls.
- Other duties as assigned
STANDARD REQUIREMENTS
- Required to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
- Establishes an up-to-date file of service manuals, part books and other service literature using the shop computer and develops familiarity with contents.
- Maintains tool kit, supplies, and accurate inventory
- Maintains effective relationships with customer and fellow employees
- Completes invoices and expense reports accurately and timely.
- Keeps workstations and shop area clean and organized.
- Must follow the policies and procedures set forth by Imagetec L. P.
