ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Construct crates, pallets, and cardboard boxes for product packaging.
- Package and crate sign products for shipment upon completion.
- Label crates accurately with the correct job number for identification.
- Ensure all items listed on the shipping manifest are properly crated or packaged.
- Access and interpret blueprints and job travelers via computer.
- Collaborate with shop associates to improve processes and resolve issues.
- Report key problems or concerns to the Production Supervisor or Plant Manager.
- Maintain a safe working environment and assist in enforcing safety regulations.
- Assist with emptying trash and recycling bins as needed.
- Participate in work teams and projects as assigned.
- Help maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Support other departments as needed.
TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience with operating various hand tools.
SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and ability to read a tape measure.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including hammers, drills, saws, staple guns, nail guns, banding tools, and spray foam machines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move 50–100 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of materials and methods used in sign fabrication (preferred).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Commitment to maintaining regular and timely attendance.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- You will be required to wear safety glasses at all times, and often cut-resistant gloves, and hearing protection.
- Exposure to high noise levels; hearing protection is recommended and required for certain tasks.
- Work is primarily performed indoors in a manufacturing setting (90% of the time).
- Standard shift: Monday–Friday (day shift); overtime, including Saturdays, may be required.
- Role involves repetitive motions, frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work environment may include fluctuating temperatures, including heat, humidity, and cold.
- Requires prolonged standing for extended periods.
