Image Engineering was founded as a company that pushes boundaries, develops new ideas through design and fabrication, and is a leader in the visual display and special effects industry. We are comprised of a team of artists, engineers, event producers, fabricators and creative thinkers.


We have worked all over the United States completing thousands of projects in the field of creative multimedia shows for clients such as Rihanna, Jay Z, Tiesto, Lady Gaga, American Idol, America’s Got Talent and multiple professional sports franchises in the NFL, NBA and NHL. We have also created permanent and temporary interactive installations for world class venues including the Staples Center, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Smithsonian Institutions and Walt Disney World.


Our strength lies in the broad range of techniques and custom special effects solutions we use to create first class spectaculars including laser effects, video projection and mapping, pyrotechnics, architectural lighting installs and custom constructed sets and props.


The technical project manager works across our fast-paced and detail-oriented teams to deliver innovative designs and solutions for our clients. This person will be expected to work on projects that will range from major sporting events, large one-off spectaculars, special effect entertainment engineering/ integration and permanent installation/ integration of audio-visual equipment. Creative problem-solving is a necessity drawing on experience, knowledge and a desire to learn about emerging technologies.


This team member will be expected to have experience in managing the various technical aspects of projects/ events. Duties range from gear specification, crew and schedule planning, site plan layout and technical consultation through the planning process. Experience providing technical projection oversight for projects/ events with budgets ranging from $50,000 to upwards of $250,000 is a must. The technical project manager is expected to have strong organizations skills, detail orientation, excellent communication skills and the ability to strive in a fast-pace and high-stress environment.


Responsibilities:


Client Management:


  • Work with technical production and engineering teams to define project scope, milestones and deliverables
  • Assist with translation of client needs into project scope, design and delivery needs
  • Develop and manage overall project budget
  • Maintain a clear line of communication with internal team members on project status, progression, changes, etc.


Project and Technical Management

  • Assist in management of select live event and permanent installation projects from initial engagement through project execution
  • Assist with project scope, pitch proposal and budget creation
  • Interface with production, fabrication and technical departments in the pre-production or planning phase
  • Provide expertise to the technical design, management of technical teams, and implementation of technical systems on a variety of project sites
  • Participate in creative development, design ideation and equipment specification for client projects
  • Assist with logistical pre-production coordination with internal and external teams
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation to include contracts, invoices, budgets, production schedules, run of shows, purchase orders, site plans, production briefs and other documents as necessary



Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or work equivalent 
  • Minimum of 5-years experience in live event production, audio/ visual integration or technical management capacity with a background in lighting design, video engineering, special effects or technical direction
  • Motivated as a self-starter to manage own workload, self-direction and problem solve without constant oversight
  • Proficiency in CAD Software - Vectorworks, Solidworks or Revit engineering or special effects
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Attention to detail and multi-tasking skills 
  • Ability to perform in high-stress and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lead internal preproduction and onsite execution project teams
  • High emotional intelligence quotient 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, internal team members, contract employees and external vendors
  • Computer Skills: Mac OS, Microsoft Office Suite- especially Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint



Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
