What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Manager position at Image Associates Inc.?
Working closely with plant supervisors, human resources, and corporate leadership, will develop and maintain a comprehensive Safety and Environmental Compliance program. You will be responsible for reducing plant accidents, overseeing the standardization of safety practices, and managing corrective action. This job is in Northern Iowa. Relocation assistance is available.
- Perform or coordinate job hazard analyses/job safety analyses for manufacturing operations.
- Develop an employee training program focused on safety.
- Implement accident prevention and injury prevention processes and procedures.
- Maintain a comprehensive safety program, appropriate for a manufacturing plant, including emergency preparedness.
- Participate in safety audits.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain employee injury records.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors’ degree in Environmental Safety and Health, Engineering, or similar required.
- At least 3-5 years’ experience working in a safety management position in a manufacturing environment.
- Should have broad knowledge about OSHA, EPA, and state and local safety and environmental requirements.
- Should know about metal forming and shaping machinery, with an understanding of machine guarding, electrical safety, and lock-out/tag-out.
