Job Description
Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator/Specialist needed at a manufacturing plant. Excellent benefits provided. This job is in Mattoon, IL.
- You will be responsible for guiding safety, health, and environmental initiatives at the company.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, such as OSHA and EPA
- Foster an incident and accident-free workplace through education, coaching, training.
- Analyze and take corrective action on accidents involving people or property.
- Create and monitor safety and accident prevention statistics.
- Assist with workers’ compensation reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, in Safety, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Health and Safety. Two-year degrees may be considered with good experience.
- One or two years' experience with a four year degree, in a manufacturing environment. More experience is necessary with a two year degree. Must have experience in an EHS role with a manufacturing company.
- Military and other experience in workplace safety will be considered in lieu of a degree. Internships or co-op experience are great pluses.
- Must have excellent skills with MS Office tools for the purpose of writing reports, communication by email, analyzing statistics, developing PowerPoint presentations.
- Some knowledge about Behavior Based Safety programs.
- Must be willing to work in a factory/manufacturing environment.
