Overview
An Accounting and HR Assistant supports both the financial and human resources functions of an organization, working closely with the Executive Staff to maintain accurate records, ensure compliance, and streamline operations.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Duties
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including processing invoices, payments, and collections.
- Work with the Finance Director to ensure timely payment of subcontractors and monitor subcontractor logs, vendor database and set up. Annual 1099 filing and review.
Human Resources Duties
- Review timesheets and prepare timesheet reports to assist with payroll and benefits administration, including reporting, maintaining employer tax records, and personnel files.
- Support employee onboarding, training, and development initiatives.
- Assist in recruitment for all departments by posting jobs, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews.
- Maintain HR records and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Track and monitor company calendar for Holidays and employee leave requests.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and HR best practices.
- Experience with an integrated accounting system is desirable; Deltek or Costpoint experience is a plus.
- Ethical professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive attitude.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and customer service orientation.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
This role requires a mix of financial and HR administrative tasks, often involving data entry, record-keeping, and coordination with multiple departments. It demands accuracy, compliance awareness, and the ability to handle sensitive employee and financial information.
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
