Senior Field Service Engineer – Electrical Testing Group
Nashville, TN | Orlando, FL
Lead critical electrical testing and commissioning at power substations and generation facilities nationwide while building expertise that impacts grid reliability.
MUST-HAVES
Own electrical testing programs from planning through execution. Perform and direct protection relay testing, circuit breaker testing, transformer testing, and full substation commissioning.
Witness critical DC Functional Trip Testing before energization. Develop testing documentation and maintain certifications. Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
Build client relationships and manage project schedules and budgets.
Preferred Skills
Equipment testing (transformers, circuit breakers, CTs, PTs, batteries). Rotating machinery and generator experience. SCADA, RTU, DFR systems. AutoCAD.
Compensation & Ownership

MUST-HAVES
- 3-10 years electrical substation testing and commissioning experience
- Expert knowledge of three-phase power systems and protection/control schemes
- Proficiency programming protection relays (GE, SEL, Alstom, Schneider, Siemens, ABB)
- Hands-on experience with relay test sets (SEL, GE, Beckwith, ABB, Basler)
- Ability to read AC/DC diagrams, wiring diagrams, and one-line drawings
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 25%
