- 2 years of food sales experience, preferably selling directly to chefs, restaurant owners, or specialty grocers
- Proven ability to build and grow customer relationships in a field-based sales role
- Hunter mindset with comfort balancing existing accounts and new business development
- Strong time-management skills and ability to work independently
- Must reside in or near the Chicago area to effectively cover the territory
- Passion for food, proteins, and chef-driven products

You’ll represent premium protein products—including custom cuts and specialty items—while working in a flexible, supportive environment that rewards performance, not micromanagement.
What You’ll Do
- Take ownership of an existing book of business and expand it through strategic outreach
- Build strong relationships with chefs, restaurant owners, and specialty grocers
- Prospect and close new accounts, spending roughly 50% of your time on new business initially
- Partner with customers to deliver custom protein solutions that elevate their menus
- Travel locally for in-person visits, tastings, and relationship-building
- Stay current on protein and foodservice trends to differentiate from commodity suppliers
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure excellent service and execution
- Participate in weekly sales meetings and contribute to team strategy
- Operate with flexibility—no rigid territory boundaries
- BA/BS preferred (or equivalent industry experience)
- Background in food, protein, or foodservice sales
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven
- Ability to manage your schedule and territory independently
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to grow earnings through performance
- Base salary uncapped commission
