A global manufacturing organization operating in more than 70 countries with over 160,000 employees is hiring a Senior Project Engineer for its Ottumwa, IA facility. This role plans, supports, and executes engineering deliverables across one or more core technology or engineering areas, developing and applying engineering standards and procedures while advising on issues within the engineering field.

Compensation

$100,000 to $140,000 per year.

What You'll Do

The Senior Project Engineer plans, designs, and estimates time and cost while overseeing construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, systems, and components, and analyzes and develops solutions to engineering problems related to manufacturing equipment, systems, or component failures. This person independently handles complex issues with minimal supervision, escalating only the most complex matters to appropriate staff, and coordinates staffing and development of construction, commissioning, and start-up plans. The role leads equipment specification and procurement, including developing, reviewing, and awarding bid packages for equipment and labor, and informally leads, mentors, and coaches early career engineers through hands-on training and project work. This position manages multimillion dollar budgets and ensures compliance with food safety standards throughout project execution.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
• Minimum of 4 years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to execute large capital projects or a portfolio of projects
• Previous experience in food manufacturing
