Reporting to the Land Manager, the Landman will support land operations by researching ownership, securing lease agreements, and performing due diligence to support drilling and development activities. - Research public records and title documents to verify ownership of mineral and surface rights.
- Assist in preparing, negotiating, and acquiring oil and gas leases and related agreements.
- Support title examination and coordinate with title attorneys to resolve defects.
- Track and maintain lease records, obligations, and critical dates to ensure compliance.
- Provide support in due diligence and acquisition efforts for new properties or assets.
- Serve as a point of contact with landowners and represent the company professionally in all dealings.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (legal, drilling, operations, etc.) to ensure alignment on land matters.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal use related to leasing status, obligations, and land positions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Petroleum Land Management, Business, or related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience as a Landman in the oil and gas industry.
- Solid understanding of lease negotiation, title research, and land records.
- Familiarity with land management software (e.g., iLandMan, Quorum) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive landowner relationships.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Willingness to travel as needed to field offices and county courthouses.
