About the Role
As an Audit and Assurance Staff Accountant, you’ll gain hands-on experience performing audits, reviews, and compilations for clients across diverse industries such as construction, non-profit, and natural resources. Key Responsibilities
- Perform audit procedures including risk assessments, internal control testing, and substantive testing.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Conduct fieldwork (onsite or remote) under supervision of senior auditors and managers.
- Communicate audit findings and recommendations clearly to team members.
- Ensure workpapers and documentation meet professional and firm standards.
- Stay current with GAAP, GAAS, and new accounting pronouncements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline.
- Minimum 1.5 years of recent public accounting experience (audit or assurance).
- CPA candidate or intent to pursue CPA licensure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with audit software such as CaseWare, CCH Engagement, or similar preferred.
Work Arrangement
- Anchorage, AK: Fully remote or in-office option available.
- Fully remote opportunity for residents of Washington, Oregon, Montana, or Idaho.
