Assistant Quality Manager

Must-have Qualifications
- Recent automotive manufacturing experience in a large, complex manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) required
- Strong working knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 Quality Systems
- Hands-on experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and DoE
- Proven leadership experience managing or leading Quality Engineers
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all Quality Engineering deliverables are completed on time and to the required level of detail, including Quality Objectives, MSA, Control Plans, Part Inspections, Capability Studies, and Customer PPAPs
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships in supplier quality to support successful program launches
- Ensure compliance with ISO/TS 16949 policies, procedures, and quality system requirements
- Build strong internal partnerships to remove roadblocks and resolve launch or production issues
- Develop Quality Engineering resource plans, staffing needs, and budgets; participate in interviewing and hiring as required
- Lead, coach, and develop Quality Engineers through performance reviews and Individual Development Plans
- Actively participate in program reviews and phase-gate/phase-exit reviews
- Prepare and present monthly assessments of PLUS Quality Engineering deliverables for assigned programs
- Lead Advanced Quality Planning activities, including APQP, FMEAs, Control Plans, PPAPs, dimensional layouts, gage and fixture design, and material/performance testing
- Apply advanced statistical methods, design of experiments, and structured problem-solving techniques
- Ensure adherence to company safety rules and regulatory requirements
- Advanced knowledge of automotive quality systems and methodologies
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to manage large or complex areas of responsibility
- Excellent customer-facing communication skills
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and business ethics
