What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Dyslexia Therapist position at Illuminations Center for Dyslexia?
At Illuminations, we value feedback, not just for our students, but for our staff as well. Each year, the director will meet with each staff member individually to discuss goals, students, and commitment to Illuminations. Annual reviews will take place in May and June each year. 1%-4.5% raises will be earned on this cycle. Raises will be implemented the month following the annual review. Raise amount will be based on these metrics:
- Professional Education. We value professional development and encourage therapists to pursue any certifications that will benefit our organization. These include ALTA, CERI, and BCET. If a therapist earns a new certificate or license, they are eligible to receive a 2% raise (one time per certification). For ongoing PD, we support you with the Education and Travel fund.
- Volunteer hours: Each staff member is required to contribute a minimum of 10 volunteer hours per year for fundraising activities. Less than 10 hours is cause for termination.
- Minimum 10 hours. 0.5%
- 10-50 hours volunteering: 1%
- More than 50 volunteer hours: 1.5%
- Therapy Services: While we provide a high level of flexibility for therapists, all staff are expected to work a minimum of 5 hours per week, and have a caseload of 3 or more students. This is an estimated 250 therapy hours per year. For online only therapists, this includes 1 hour weekly for live therapy and 1 hour weekly for asynchronous therapy (2 hours per student per week).
- Minimum Raise: 3-5 students, 250 hours = 1%
- Level 2 Raise: 6-10 students, 500 hours = 2%
- Maximum Raise: 11 students, 750 hours = 3%
Attendance: If a staff member misses more than 10% of their scheduled days of work, total raise amount will be decreased by 1%. For example, Jane was scheduled for 150 days, but canceled on 15 of those days, then the total raise (2% level 2 0.5% for minimal volunteer = 2.5%) will be reduced to 1.5% for the coming year. In addition, missing more than 20% of scheduled days is cause for termination.
