In addition to our signature experiences, Illuminarium also hosts a range of events—from immersive nightlife and live sports programming to private, customized gatherings tailored to every occasion.

THE ROLE

As a Guest Service Associate at Illuminarium Atlanta, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering an outstanding guest experience. Whether welcoming visitors at the door, assisting them at admissions or in our experience rooms, or supporting retail and box office operations, you will create memorable moments and represent the energy and creativity of the Illuminarium brand. You’ll work across multiple areas, ensuring the venue is guest-ready at all times and supporting private and public events as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

OPERATIONS

  • Follow and enforce all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor guest safety and protect company assets while operating the attraction.
  • Operate equipment including ticket scanners, POS systems, show control panels, mobile photo booths, etc.
  • Ensure venue cleanliness and visual appeal at all times.
  • Follow cash handling procedures and reconcile transactions accurately.
  • Perform opening/closing duties (e.g., set up furniture, prep workstations, restock merchandise).
  • Support event changeovers, including furniture moves and event setup.
  • Immediately report safety incidents or unsafe conditions to leadership.
  • Assist with additional tasks as assigned by leadership.

GUEST SERVICE

  • Deliver excellent guest service by creating a welcoming, engaging, and safe environment.
  • Provide helpful, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic support throughout the guest journey.
  • Stay informed on show content to provide contextual information during guest interactions.
  • Present scripted or unscripted information to groups as needed.
  • Handle guest questions and concerns with professionalism and positivity.
  • Assist with guest communications via phone or email.

SALES

  • Promote Illuminarium experiences and retail products with enthusiasm.
  • Offer thoughtful product recommendations to enhance the guest’s visit.
  • Operate the POS system and handle ticket sales and retail purchases.
  • Maintain merchandise presentation standards and support monthly inventory tasks.
  • Assist with unboxing, tagging, and merchandising new products.

ACCOMMODATIONS

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods and bend frequently.
  • Use of digital devices (tablets, smartphones, POS terminals).
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 10–20 lbs regularly; occasionally up to 50 lbs with assistance.
  • May be required to lift up to 30 lbs overhead.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Occasional outdoor work may be required.
  • During regular operations or events, team members may be exposed to:
  • Flashing/strobe lights
  • Loud music or sound effects
  • Vibrations, manufactured scents, fog/smoke effects

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Energetic, positive attitude and strong interest in guest engagement.
  • Must have weekend and holiday availability.
  • Must have full availability between 8 AM – 2 AM Friday-Sunday.
  • Clear and confident verbal communication, especially when addressing large groups.
  • Previous experience in a guest-facing role preferred.
  • Bi-lingual abilities are a plus.
  • Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
