Duties
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks and Service Titan
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to ensure consistency across all accounts
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately
- Prepare journal entries, including debits & credits, for various financial activities in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to verify data integrity
- Assist with payroll processing and related tax filings to ensure compliance with governmental regulations
- Support budgeting efforts by tracking expenses and preparing financial reports for management review
- Manage accounts payable and receivable workflows while ensuring timely payments and collections
- Execute month-end closing procedures, including general ledger accounting and financial report writing
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and double entry bookkeeping methods
- Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger accounting
- Familiarity with financial concepts including budgeting, account analysis, and account reconciliation
- Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently for data entry tasks
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate records
- Prior experience in public accounting or working within a non-profit or governmental environment is preferred
- Strong communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and collaborating across teams
