We are a boutique law firm based in Oakland, California (with offices in Los Angeles and Sacramento) with dynamic and interesting federal white collar, antitrust, civil, and criminal practices. We seek a motivated and detail-oriented candidate with strong problem-solving skills who works well both independently and with others.The position requires, among other skills, the following:Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, PACER, Westlaw, Lexis, and the Blue BookSignificant experience with federal and state rules and filing procedures and the ability to handle large, complicated filingsAbility to interact with clientsFamiliarity with eDiscovery software (Relativity, Reveal, etc.) as user and administratorAbility to organize and analyze discovery, as well as prepare discovery productions in criminal and civil state and federal casesResponsibilities also include administrative tasks, including:Maintaining hard copy and electronic document files, including archiving and coordination of offsite file storageAssisting with scheduling, client billing, and making travel arrangementsMaintaining attorney calendarsHelping prepare engagement lettersCreating and formatting pleading documents and correspondence using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat, including cite checking and proofreadingAttending and documenting meetings with clients or counselProcessing mail and purchasing office suppliesOur firm culture emphasizes teamwork, creativity, and initiative.
