HR Specialist, Compliance

Duties & Responsibilities

• Administer HR-related compliance programs and policies.
  
  • Review retiree rehire requests, ensuring required documents are submitted and requests adhere to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Process all aspects of leave of absence and notice of nonreappointment requests.
  • Support campus by processing background, sex-based misconduct, and motor vehicle record checks.
  • Investigate background check results, preparing and presenting cases to the review committee that require additional review.
• Provide customer support and issue resolution for routine and complex inquiries.
  • Communicate background-check related results to candidates and units.
• Conduct training and development programs on compliance-related topics.
  • Assist with campuswide trainings about notice of nonreappointment processing.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures and job aids
• Ensures adherence to HR policies and legal requirements through tracking, training, and internal reviews. Identifies areas of concern related to adherence to HR policies and legal requirements.
  • Prepare documents for appointments in need of Board of Trustees’ approval.
  • Audit and track campuswide compliance trainings.
  • Support auditing efforts for SURS.
• Participate in committees and projects of defined scope.
