Duties & Responsibilities
Volunteer Management
- Recruit and screen volunteers. Orient volunteers to the program, event program offerings, risk management, policies, procedures, and materials.
- Maintain required records and data.
- Provide leadership and communication, as primary contact, to volunteers.
- Maintain contact with volunteers on a regular basis through meetings and correspondence, including email and phone calls.
- Assist with ANR Programs as needed.
- Conduct yearly program planning with volunteers, partners, and other staff members.
- Assist with Volunteer Trainings (Master Gardener and Master Naturalist).
- Leading Volunteer Meetings.
- Updates to Volunteer Handbooks.
Data reporting
- Conducts the evaluation of program activities, develops impact statements, and recommends continuation, modification, or discontinuance of the program.
- Prepare Program Reports and press releases, and distribute to Publicity and Promotion Specialist.
- Works with staff and volunteers to collect, process, and maintain program records and data.
- Submit contact reports, activity reports and program reports on a monthly basis.
Misc
- Assists with the development and maintenance of financial support (i.e. grant writing and fundraising) for the conduct of the program activity.
- Complies with all Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity policies and guidelines in all aspects of Extension work; assists Unit staff with data collection for Affirmative Action, Gender, Race, Ethnicity and Targeted reports.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by County Extension Director and ANR Educators.
- Participates in staff development and professional development opportunities.
