Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including data entry, invoice processing, and payment management.
- Conduct monthly account analysis and account reconciliation to verify data integrity across various accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, PeopleSoft, or Sage.
- Support payroll management using systems like ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or Ceridian, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Assist with financial software integration and updates, including Workday, Paychex, or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and governmental accounting standards.
- Perform detailed Excel data analysis for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting purposes.
- Handle confidential information with discretion while maintaining high standards of accuracy in bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping.
- Support internal audits and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
- Contribute to process improvements in accounting workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy across financial operations.
Experience
- Proven accounting experience with a strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and practices.
- Experience working with multiple financial software platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar systems.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and public accounting practices is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability in technical accounting tasks including journal entries, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger management.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills for data analysis and spreadsheet management.
- Prior experience handling accounts payable/receivable functions along with payroll processing using ADP or equivalent systems.
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account reconciliation.
- Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Strong organizational skills paired with effective communication abilities to collaborate across teams effectively.
