Position Information
Full Time, 40 hours per week Daytime hours M-F with 6 paid holidays Opportunity for Saturday overtime available
Travel to Dixon, Princeton, Peru, Ottawa, and Streator required
Position Summary Skilled Medical Assistant performs multiple tasks in a busy urology clinic as we have a steady stream of scheduled appointments for patients and the expectation is to fully participate, with accuracy being very important. Both clerical and patient care activities are performed per the practice's needs and as instructed by the clinicians on duty, supervisor, and per federal and state laws and regulations. Essential Functions shared by Medical Assistants: Manages patient flow by promptly rooming patients as they arrive to ensure low wait times. Ensure medical records are accurate and up to date before and at each appointment. Prepare and administer IM and SQ injections and perform basic laboratory and medical procedures as directed by the provider. Reviews insurance and is cognizant for lab processing. Carefully and promptly responds to direct daily tasks sent by providers and schedules patients as necessary. Conduct inventory, travel supplies, and prepare lists for the ordering of supplies. Ability to work in a high-volume clinic setting with a friendly and professional demeanor. Travels to various clinic locations Maintains and assures confidentiality of patient information. Reports building/equipment problems through the appropriate channels. Performs department-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor in a continuously changing medical practice. Requirements: Must have Completed Medical Assistant courses and/or training Ability to read and write to review, file, and maintain patient medical records and charts. Basic computer skills to maintain a patient's EHR. Ability to operate standard office equipment. Strong interpersonal skills to greet patients, visitors, and staff with a smile, obtain required information, and respond to their questions. Analytical ability to balance and organize work to perform multiple functions for the department. Reliability is of high importance.
