Position Overview

As an Account Technician I in the Criminal Justice Services-Bureau of Identification section within the Division of Justice Services, under direction, Maintains complex books of accounts for multiple General Revenue fund, State Police Services Fund, and grant funding sources. Prepares requisitions, vouchers, orders for delivery, and other fiscal related forms. Accesses the Fiscal Management Bureau electronic FOCUS Program (OFBLook) to review and reconcile commitments, obligations, authority numbers, expenditures, and balance information. Inputs all payable into the COINS program for numerous bureau cost centers. Performs monthly account audits for all bureau stakeholder accounts. Prepares monthly and quarterly budget reports.

Essential Functions

  • Under general supervision, performs technical accounting work in the maintenance of fiscal records and books of accounts.
  • Prepares requisitions, vouchers, orders for delivery, and other fiscal related forms.
  • Accesses the Fiscal Management bureau electronic FOCUS Program (OFBLook) to review and reconcile commitments, obligations, authority numbers, expenditures, and balance information.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and completion of an approved training course or three (3) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefers one (1) year experience using Microsoft Office products.
  • Prefers one (1) year experience working with Enterprise Reporting System(s).
  • Prefers one (1) year experience working knowledge and accuracy with mathematic calculations.
  • Prefers one (1) year experience working with office equipment, such as calculators and printers.
  • Prefers one (1) year experience of accounting techniques.
  • Prefers one (1) year experience of state or non-state accounting techniques.
