We are seeking a dedicated Parent Mentor Program Coordinator to join our team in Freeport, IL. The Parent Mentor Program Coordinator (PMC) plays a vital role in supporting the success of the Parent Mentor Program. Duties
- Educate stakeholders (including schools, community leaders, and elected officials) about PMP’s impact.
- Recruit, interview, and supervise Parent Mentors.
- Maintain strong relationships with teachers, administrators, parents, and community partners.
- Ensure PMP aligns with the year-long work plan across assigned schools.
- Coordinate daily PMP activities in schools, including classroom.
- Train and support Parent Mentors to succeed in classrooms and community engagement.
- Assist with the 5-day initial PMP training (Train the Trainer model).
- Organize and lead professional development workshops for Parent Mentors.
- Help plan and support one Parent Mentor–led community event per year.
- Support statewide meetings, training sessions, and workshops to enhance program effectiveness.
- Track and submit timesheets, stipends, and financial documentation in compliance with policies.
- Submit monthly reports on program activities and outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 2 years of related work experience (nonprofit, outreach, or community organizing preferred).
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of local community agencies and resources.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to travel locally for outreach activities and events.
- Flexible schedule to support school and community activities.
