Insurance Navigator

Job Overview
We are seeking a Part-Time Hybrid Insurance Navigator to join our team in the Union County in Illinois. The Insurance Navigator will complete training to become a certified health insurance navigator with the Get Covered Illinois program. Navigators play a key role in providing culturally competent, accurate, and fair information to help community members enroll in health coverage programs. Navigator will participate in outreach events/activities within Union County and adjacent counties.

Duties

• Complete required Illinois Navigator training and maintain state certification.
• Assist clients with enrollment in Qualified Health Plans (QHPs) or Medicaid.
• Provide referrals to the Illinois Department of Insurance or other agencies for grievances or coverage questions.
• Conduct outreach and education in underserved and Limited English Proficient (LEP) communities.
• Meet outreach and enrollment goals as determined by the program.
• Participate in all required meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions.
• Canvass communities, schools, and small businesses to raise awareness.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with community-based organizations.
• Deliver educational presentations and participate in tabling events.
• Use social media and other channels to promote program awareness.

Requirements

• Associates degree or 2 years of related work experience (nonprofit, outreach, or community organizing preferred).
• Proficient in English and Spanish is desired
• Strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to serving diverse and hard-to-reach populations.
• Experience working with diverse communities, including immigrant and rural populations.
• Strong communication, outreach, and cultural competency skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to complete accurate reports and documentation.
• Ability to travel locally for outreach activities and events.

Benefits
