Garage Door Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Garage Door Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of garage doors and related systems. Your expertise will ensure that each customer’s garage door operates smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Duties

• Sales
• Install new garage doors, including framing, door hanging, and fixture installation using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques
• Perform repairs on malfunctioning garage doors, including replacing broken springs, cables, rollers, and hardware components
• Conduct routine maintenance such as lubrication, calibration, and adjustments to ensure optimal operation
• Read blueprints and schematics to accurately assemble and install custom systems according to specifications
• Utilize welding skills for fabricating custom parts or repairing metal components as needed
• Handle heavy lifting safely when installing large doors or heavy hardware components on construction sites or residential properties
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues using mechanical knowledge and electrical experience to identify root causes and implement solutions

Skills

• Sales
• Proficiency in glass installation, metal stud framing, trim carpentry, and cabinetry for customized door solutions
• Strong understanding of schematics, blueprint reading, and technical drawings for precise installations
• Experience with locksmithing techniques related to locksets and security features on garage doors
• Skilled in the use of hand tools (hammers, screwdrivers), power tools (drills, saws), and fabrication equipment
• Knowledge of electrical systems associated with garage door openers and safety sensors
• Ability to perform drywall repair, caulking, remodeling tasks, and general handyman duties as needed
• Construction site experience with a focus on safety protocols and efficient project completion
