We are seeking a hands-on, self-starter Campground Facilities & Maintenance Technician to oversee and maintain all campground facilities, grounds, utilities, roads, buildings, and recreational areas.

This role is a blend of hands-on maintenance work, preventative upkeep, and facility oversight. The ideal candidate takes ownership, works independently, and can both perform repairs and coordinate contractors as needed.

Live-on-site housing is available or required depending on property needs and candidate fit.

You will receive hands-on training on site systems and expectations, but success in this role requires someone who is self-directed, proactive, and able to self-perform daily maintenance tasks without constant supervision.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and repair buildings, grounds, roads, utilities, and recreational facilities
  • Perform hands-on maintenance work including general repairs, basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and grounds upkeep
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve issues proactively
  • Oversee landscaping, snow removal, drainage, signage, fencing, and outdoor spaces
  • Coordinate and manage contractors (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, landscaping, etc.)
  • Support setup and breakdown for events and facility rentals
  • Ensure facilities are clean, safe, and fully operational year-round
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and repair logs
  • Respond to urgent maintenance and emergency issues as needed

Leadership & Accountability

  • Work independently as a self-starter who takes ownership of property upkeep
  • Provide hands-on guidance and basic training to seasonal staff or helpers
  • Coordinate daily work priorities and ensure tasks are completed on time
  • Communicate with leadership, vendors, volunteers, and guests as needed

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow OSHA and safety standards at all times
  • Conduct routine safety checks across all facilities and grounds
  • Ensure proper handling of tools, equipment, and maintenance materials
  • Support emergency response and incident reporting procedures

Budget & Vendor Support

  • Assist with maintenance budgeting and cost control
  • Work with vendors and contractors to ensure quality and timely completion
  • Track materials, supplies, and equipment usage
  • Support capital improvement and repair projects

What We’re Looking For

  • 5 years of facilities, property maintenance, construction, or grounds experience
  • Strong self-starter with ability to work independently and self-perform tasks
  • Hands-on experience with building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical)
  • Experience working with contractors or maintenance teams
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in the field
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

Nice to Have

  • Experience with campgrounds, parks, resorts, or recreational facilities
  • OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid certifications
  • Experience with preventative maintenance systems or work order tracking tools
  • Background in capital projects or facility upgrades
