What are the responsibilities and job description for the Complex Litigation Case Manager 26-E-07 position at Illinois Attorney General (IL)?
The Complex Litigation Case Manager will oversee major litigation by assisting bureaus and divisions with critical, high-level aid while managing complex and multi-state cases. This position will handle substantive legal research, draft and file documents, coordinate expert witnesses, manage contracts, lead case related meetings, address issues as they arise, and supervise litigation support teams. The Complex Litigation Case Manager will assist in drafting motions, answers, complaints, tables, exhibits, and discovery materials and edit and proof complex litigation documents. They will provide organizational oversight and support of the discovery process and maintain case management, including real-time coordination of documents and exhibits. The Complex Litigation Case Manager will perform cite checking to ensure accuracy of case law, quotations, and references and ensure strict compliance with federal and local court rules ensuring all legal procedural requirements are met.
This position will train, mentor, and manage litigation teams that include attorneys, law clerks, and paralegals on litigation procedures. This position requires completion of an accredited law school, master’s or bachelor’s degree in legal studies, criminal justice or a related field, along with a minimum 5-7 years of complex federal court litigation experience or similar environment, and 2 years of supervisory experience. Advanced knowledge of federal court procedures; expertise in verifying citations using legal research tools, Bluebook, and federal and local court rules; and fluency in e-discovery tools are required. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work under high pressure, problem-solving skills are also required. Additionally, this position must demonstrate the ability to manage a high-volume under strict deadlines. This position will require the ability to work extended hours and travel may be required. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and computer skills. They must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion concerning case management, identify problems and present solutions, and attendance, are essential functions of this position.

Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
