Duties
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including dental examinations, medical history reviews, and oral health evaluations.
- Provide a wide range of general dentistry services such as dental cleanings, fillings, crowns, bridges, and prosthodontics.
- Conduct complex procedures including dental extractions, root canal therapy, and oral surgery with precision and care.
- Utilize advanced dental software like Epic, Eaglesoft, and Dentrix to document medical records accurately and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment for all procedures.
- Use medical imaging tools to diagnose dental issues effectively and plan appropriate treatment strategies.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment options, and preventive care to promote long-term oral health.
- Collaborate with team members on four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and current best practices in pediatric dentistry and endodontics.
- Ensure all documentation complies with HIPAA regulations and accurately reflects patient care activities.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a busy dental clinic or dental office environment with a focus on general dentistry procedures.
- Strong familiarity with dental software platforms such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for charting and record keeping.
- Demonstrated expertise in pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics (root canal therapy), prosthodontics, and dental fabrication techniques.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry and the ability to interpret medical imaging for diagnostic purposes.
- Experience performing dental extractions, root canals, and other surgical procedures while maintaining aseptic technique.
- Understanding of infection control standards and protocols aligned with OSHA guidelines to ensure patient safety.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration within a fast-paced environment.
