About the Position
ILER Networking & Computing is looking for an energetic, outgoing, and motivated individual to join our team as a Business Development & Marketing Representative.
This is an entry-level position for someone who enjoys working with people, is comfortable communicating by phone and in person, and wants to develop skills in sales, marketing, and business development.
This is not a position where you will spend every day sitting behind a desk. Some days will involve preparing marketing campaigns and contacting prospective customers, while others may involve visiting local businesses, canvassing targeted areas, attending networking events, or participating in prospective client meetings.
Training will be provided. Previous professional sales or marketing experience is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
The Business Development & Marketing Representative will assist with a variety of sales and marketing activities, including:
- Preparing and coordinating direct-mail and marketing campaigns
- Preparing letters, promotional materials, and sales packets
- Researching prospective businesses and maintaining prospect lists
- Making outbound sales calls to local businesses
- Following up with prospective customers by phone and email
- Scheduling qualified appointments for sales meetings
- Canvassing local businesses and introducing our company and services
- Delivering marketing materials to targeted businesses
- Participating in prospective client meetings
- Attending local networking, chamber, association, and community events
- Helping coordinate lunch-and-learns, seminars, trade shows, and other marketing events
- Assisting with email and digital marketing campaigns
- Updating prospect and sales information in our CRM system
- Following up with leads generated through marketing campaigns and events
- Working with management to identify new local sales opportunities
- Tracking calls, contacts, appointments, campaigns, and results

Experience & Education
This is an entry-level position, and we are willing to train the right person.
A college degree is not required.
This could be an excellent opportunity for:

- Someone studying business, marketing, communications, or sales
- Someone with retail, hospitality, customer service, or other people-facing experience
- Someone looking to begin a career in professional B2B sales and marketing
Previous sales, marketing, customer service, or business experience is a plus and may qualify the candidate for a higher starting rate within the posted pay range.
Additional Requirements
Because this position includes visiting local businesses and attending events:
- A valid driver's license is required
- Reliable transportation is required
- The candidate must be comfortable traveling throughout the local area
- Occasional early morning or evening networking events may be required
Compensation & Performance Bonuses
Base Pay: $15–$22 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
In addition to hourly compensation, this position offers performance incentives:
- $25 bonus for each qualified sales appointment that is scheduled and completed
- $100 bonus for each new client obtained from the representative's prospecting and business development efforts
There is no cap on these performance bonuses. The more successful the representative is at generating qualified opportunities and helping bring new clients to the company, the greater their earning potential.
Growth Opportunity
This position is designed to provide hands-on experience throughout the sales and marketing process:
Marketing → Prospecting → Cold Calling → Canvassing → Networking → Appointment Setting → Sales Meetings → New Client Acquisition
As the representative develops their skills and demonstrates results, there will be opportunities to take on increased responsibility in business development, sales, account management, and marketing.
We are looking for someone who wants to learn, isn't afraid to talk to people, and enjoys seeing their efforts turn into measurable results.
Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
