Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items following standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to ensure quality and freshness
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety standards
- Handle food with proper hygiene practices, including food handling and storage
- Support kitchen operations during busy periods, including catering and special events
- Ensure all food is prepared efficiently and served promptly to meet customer expectations
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen workflow and high-quality output
- Use knife skills proficiently for chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients
- Participate in meal preparation for various service styles, including fine dining
Experience
- Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience is advantageous
- Experience in menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food service preferred
- Background in the food industry with restaurant or catering experience highly desirable
- Strong culinary skills with knowledge of food safety protocols and proper handling techniques
- Familiarity with food industry standards for quality control and sanitation
- Experience working in fast-paced environments such as fine dining establishments or catering services is a plus
