Porter

il Buco al mare is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Seasonal Overnight Porter to help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout our restaurant. This role is essential in creating a welcoming and sanitary environment for our guests and team members.

NOTE: This is a seasonal position for Summer 2026, and the schedule are overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed. 

The Overnight Porter is responsible for ensuring all guest-facing areas, dining rooms, restrooms, and public spaces are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and prepared for service. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining a clean environment, works efficiently with minimal supervision, and has a strong commitment to safety and sanitation standards.

• Maintain exceptional cleanliness and appearance standards throughout all guest-facing areas.

• Clean and sanitize dining room tables, chairs, and high-touch surfaces.

• Sweep and mop dining room floors to ensure a polished and welcoming environment.

• Clean glass, mirrors, windows, fixtures, and visible surfaces throughout the restaurant.

• Organize and reset dining room furniture according to restaurant standards.

• Deep clean and sanitize restroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, counters, partitions, and fixtures.

• Replenish restroom supplies and guest amenities throughout each shift.

• Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners as needed.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all public and guest areas.

• Report maintenance issues, repair needs, and supply shortages to management.

• Follow all sanitation, safety, and cleaning procedures in accordance with company standards.

• Complete all assigned cleaning duties before the end of each shift.

• Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment preferred.

• Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and sanitation standards preferred.

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety.

• Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining scheduled shifts.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with management and team members.

• Must comply with NYC health and safety regulations.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

• Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.

• Ability to climb stairs and use step stools or ladders as needed.

• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift.

• Comfortable working in a environment with exposure to heat, cold, and wet conditions.

• Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment.

• Commitment to maintaining safety and sanitation standards in all guest and employee areas.
