What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interior Designer position at IKM Architecture?
IKM Architecture is seeking an Interior Designer with a minimum of three years of experience to join our team in Cleveland or Columbus. This position supports the planning and execution of interior projects, particularly in healthcare and higher education environments, by assisting in the development of architectural concepts, including furniture and equipment planning, spatial layouts, finish selections, and material coordination. The role requires a strong understanding of interior design principles and the ability to support projects from concept through documentation under the guidance of senior staff.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design of interior spaces, ensuring alignment with project goals and client needs
- Support development of design concepts, space plans, and FF&E strategies
- Participate in project meetings and coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants
- Prepare presentation materials and construction documentation
- Research materials, products, and code requirements relevant to project scope
- Demonstrate strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Maintain design standards and contribute to quality control throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from an accredited institution.
- 3 years or more of professional interior design experience
- Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Licensed professional certification in interior design (e.g., NCIDQ) is preferred.

Salary: $53,600 – $65,000 and is based on experience
