About Us
Iki Toro is an elevated Japanese dining destination in the heart of Glendale. We focus on high-end Edomae-style sushi and open-fire robata grilling. We are looking for energetic, detail-oriented individuals to join our opening team and help us deliver a seamless, premium dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Running: Promptly and accurately deliver dishes from the kitchen to the correct table/seat; explain the dish and any accompanying sauces or garnishes to the guest.
- Table Maintenance: Clear "pre-bus" finished plates, glassware, and debris throughout the meal to maintain a clean dining environment.
- Turnover: Quickly clean and reset tables according to Iki Toro’s specific upscale standards (proper placement of chopsticks, soy dishes, etc.) to ensure a smooth flow for incoming guests.
- Support: Assist servers and bartenders by refilling water, clearing used napkins, and supporting the "omotenashi" (Japanese hospitality) philosophy.
- Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness of the dining room, sidestations, and restrooms throughout the shift.
- Polishing: Ensure all glassware and silverware are polished and spot-free before they reach the floor.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1 years of experience in a high-volume or upscale restaurant preferred (but we are willing to train the right attitude).
- Pace: Ability to stay calm and move with urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and a team-first mentality.
- Detail-Oriented: A sharp eye for cleanliness and presentation.
- Physical: Ability to stand for long periods and carry heavy trays (up to 30 lbs) safely.
- Availability: Flexible schedule, including weekends and late-night evening shifts.
