Location: Port Washington, NY (1 position)/Mineola, NY (New Location Opening - 2 positions)
Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Owner/GM
Compensation: $50,000–$60,000 performance incentives
About This Role
Great restaurants aren't just about great food — they're about the experience. As our Assistant Manager, you'll be the architect of that experience, leading a team that makes every guest feel welcome and ensuring smooth, efficient service from the moment someone walks through the door.
This is a ground-floor opportunity at our second location, with room to grow as Ikedo expands.
What You'll Do
- Own the guest experience — ensure every interaction reflects Ikedo's hospitality-first culture
- Lead your team — train, coach, and motivate FOH staff to deliver exceptional service consistently
- Manage operations — oversee scheduling, cash handling, seating flow, and cleanliness standards
- Solve problems gracefully — handle guest concerns with professionalism and a solutions-focused mindset
- Bridge FOH and BOH — maintain strong communication with the kitchen to ensure seamless service
- Support hiring and training — help build a team culture people want to be part of
- Embrace technology — ensure POS systems, kiosks, and tablets run smoothly and train staff on usage
- Engage the community — participate in local marketing, events, and outreach initiatives
Who You Are
- Experienced: 2 years in FOH management or a supervisory role (fast-casual or full-service)
- A natural leader: You inspire your team through positivity, clear communication, and leading by example
- Guest-obsessed: You take pride in creating memorable experiences and turning first-timers into regulars
- Organized and adaptable: You thrive in fast-paced environments and can juggle multiple priorities
- Tech-savvy: Comfortable with POS systems (Toast preferred) and Google Workspace
- Professional: You set the standard for appearance, attitude, and work ethic
- Flexible: Available for weekends, evenings, and busy periods
Bonus Points For
- Experience with restaurant openings
- Knowledge of Japanese or Asian cuisine
- Multilingual abilities
