Duties
- Safely operate stand-up forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
- Perform order picking using RF scanners and warehouse management systems to fulfill shipping and receiving orders accurately
- Utilize clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to handle materials with precision and care
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring all items are correctly loaded or unloaded in accordance with company procedures
- Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and heavy equipment to ensure safety standards are maintained in compliance with OSHA regulations
- Support warehouse supervisors by managing inventory movement, stacking pallets, and maintaining organized storage areas
- Collaborate with team members on heavy lifting tasks and ensure proper use of mechanical knowledge for efficient operations
Experience
- Proven experience operating stand-up forklifts in a warehouse or construction setting
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution, order picker operations, and materials handling techniques
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety practices
- Previous experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and shipping & receiving processes
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor forklift issues and performing basic maintenance checks
- Experience working with clamp trucks, pallet jacks, crane operations, or other heavy machinery is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of warehouse procedures including load & unload operations, heavy lifting protocols, and inventory control
