Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies to deliver products across designated routes.
- Load, unload, and transport merchandise while practicing safe lifting practices and heavy lifting techniques.
- Verify pricing accuracy and ensure proper placement of products during merchandising activities at customer locations or retail outlets.
- Engage with customers professionally, providing excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, and upselling additional products when appropriate.
- Maintain organized delivery schedules and route driving plans to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and adhere to automobile transportation safety standards.
- Execute merchandising strategies by arranging products attractively, restocking shelves, and ensuring displays meet company standards.
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers and team members regarding delivery statuses, route changes, or issues encountered during daily operations.
Experience
- Previous experience in commercial driving or delivery roles preferred; familiarity with route driving is a plus.
- Strong math skills for handling pricing calculations, inventory counts, and sales transactions.
- Demonstrated ability in customer service with excellent communication skills to build rapport with clients.
- Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques and safe lifting practices to prevent injuries during product handling.
- Experience in merchandising or retail environments that require organizational skills for product placement and display setup.
- Military background or related discipline that emphasizes safety awareness, organizational skills, and teamwork is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; familiarity with DOT regulations essential for compliance.
