Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Facilities Technician/Coordinator to manage the daily maintenance, safety, infrastructure, and overall functionality of our ~30,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. This role is critical in keeping our operations running smoothly, safely, and in full compliance with regulations.

The ideal candidate is self-driven, detail-oriented, and thrives working independently in a dynamic industrial setting. This position also offers potential for growth into a leadership role for the right individual.

  • Must be eligible to obtain an active US Security Clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform regular inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Identifies and corrects building/equipment issues. Works on assignments that are extremely complex in nature where independent action and a high degree of initiative are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance for mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and building infrastructure.
  • Performs duties in the fields of electrical, electronics, controls programing, plumbing, mechanical, vacuum systems or (HVAC is a plus).
  • Manage relationships and contracts with service providers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Ensure the facility is clean, organized, and in good working order at all times.
  • Oversee equipment servicing schedules, and routine preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain facility documentation, including maintenance logs, equipment manuals, and building drawing
  • Ability to work safely with many hand tools, machines, mechanical equipment, pneumatic equipment, electrical equipment and power tools.
  • Ability to read and analyzes electrical circuits, wiring ladder diagrams, interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals and engineering sketches.
  • Ability to search and research products, equipment, manuals, part purchasing
  • Assist production and engineering teams with facility-related projects and modifications.
  • Support facility readiness for audits, certifications, and regulatory inspections.
  • Manage security systems, access controls, and after-hours building issues
  • Some weekend or after-hours availability may be needed for maintenance or emergencies

EH&S Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support and help enforce EH&S policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations.
  • Conduct safety inspections and hazard assessments to reduce risk and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Manage waste disposal, recycling, and hazardous material handling procedures.
  • Coordinate emergency preparation plans, including fire safety, evacuation routes, and emergency response supplies

Education & Experience

  • Associate’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field preferred.
  • 8 years’ experience in a facilities role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Certifications in OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, or similar safety credentials preferred.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment

Skills

  • Strong Communication skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform hands-on maintenance tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and EH&S best practices
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with maintenance tracking systems a plus.

Working Conditions

  • Work in various adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, heights, and temperature extremes, indoors or outdoors to complete work assignments

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 40lbs
