IHSS Parkinson’s Male Caregiver – Job Description
Role: In-Home Supportive Services/Spanish (IHSS) Caregiver for a male client with Parkinson’s disease, providing compassionate, non-medical care to help him live independently at home.

Job Overview
IHSS program connected. Helping couple recipients with trained caregivers to provide essential support in their own home. This role involves caring for a male client with Parkinson’s disease, ensuring his comfort, safety, and dignity while promoting independence. The caregiver will work directly with the client, family, and healthcare providers to meet his daily needs San Bernardino Department of Public Social Services. Extra Pay will be determined by experience and qualifications of CPR Certification and or CNA/Caregiver Experience. Must be flexible and Spanish Speaking.

Key Responsibilities
Personal Care Assistance: Help with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility as needed, adapting to Parkinson’s-related movement challenges

Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications on time, following healthcare provider instructions

Diet & Nutrition: Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs and preferences, ensuring safe food handling

Mobility & Safety: Assist with transfers, walking, and use of mobility aids; identify and address home safety hazards

Companionship & Emotional Support: Provide companionship, engage in conversation, and encourage participation in activities to support emotional well-being

Housekeeping & Light Chores: Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and general cleaning to maintain a safe, comfortable environment

Transportation: Must have valid Driver's License Take the client to medical appointments, errands, and social activities as needed.

Communication: Keep accurate records of care provided and communicate regularly with family, healthcare providers, and the IHSS Public Authority, must be connected to IHSS or in the process.

Must have References and qualifications/ experience of at least 2 years. CPR/ FIRST AID Certified. Driver's License and personal transportation. Spanish Speaking a must. Caring and Compassionate.
