What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant position at IHS Community Living Center?
Responsibilities:
- Monitor patient environment to ensure safe and calm atmosphere
-Assist patients on doctor appointments, community outings, and facility activities daily
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Provide basic nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse/ licensed practical nurse
- Assist with patient transfers and repositioning to ensure comfort
- Perform basic medical procedure in the event of an emergency
- Assist in the delivery of meals
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a nursing assistant training program or equivalent experience
- Current certification as a nursing assistant (CNA)/ PCA
- Experience in a hospital, medical office and personal care home setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects or patients with proper body mechanics
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Experience in hospice care, dementia care, nursing and psychiatric management is a plus
