What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machining Technician I position at IHI TURBO AMERICA CO.?
IHI Turbo America is seeking experienced machine operators for 2nd shift (2-10 pm).
Process and complete all production operations on machined components including machining, deburring, washing, and sub-assemblies. The position is considered as an entry-level position, serving as a training position for developing machining technicians.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work as a member of “machining team” in machining cells as assigned by supervisor.
2. Assure all components specifications are accurately followed in all machining operations assigned.
3. Become proficient in gaging. (micrometers, calipers, dial bore gages, thread gages etc.) following operating instructions, assuring components are produced to specification.
4. Operate CNC lathes, machining centers, deburring tools, parts washers, etc.
5. Make tooling adjustments, applying metric system calculations
6. Complete all required documentation including move tickets, scrap tickets, production records, and quality control records.
7. Perform all work assignments on schedule, meeting or exceeding quality standards.
8. Perform routine equipment PM’s (lubrication, coolant titration etc.)
9. Maintain a clean work area by following all 5S practices.
10. Participates in continuous improvement activities, recommending process changes.
- Be able to lift and or move up to 50lbs.
- Ability to wear proper safety gear/PPE as needed.
- Repetitive standing, bending, turning, and twisting for extended periods of time.
- Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach at arm’s length, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Ability to use power tools, air tools, and other vibratory tools.
- Must be able to pass a, physical, with drug/alcohol test and background screen
- Full dexterity in joints (shoulders, elbows, wrists, fingers), involving continuous repetitive motion for most line workstations. Use of hands to handle or feel.
- May be required to use forklifts, industrial equipment, carts, pallet jacks and all other equipment related to material handling
- Standing: up to 12 hrs.
- Use of both hands, arms, and shoulders (full range of motion)
