What The Physiology Tech Will Do
- Responsible for the performance of physiology tests; conducts progressively more complex tests as departmental experience accumulates.
- Performs duties associated with tests, i.e. attaches electrodes, prepares graphs, performs calculations, monitors heart rate, etc.
- Greets and prepares patients for tests. Interacts with patients in a courteous manner; explains treatment purpose and equipment function and otherwise alleviates patient's anxiety.
- Reviews test results on a preliminary basis to determine need for immediate interpretation by physicians; delivers results to referring physician when necessary.
- Performs a variety of related duties such as changing linens, ordering supplies, filing and so on.
- Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of high school.
- College level training in physiology, anatomy, or biology.
- American Heart Association BLS
