Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Apply physics and engineering-based analysis to aerospace systems, navigation, guidance, and control, rocket propulsion, aerodynamics, and aerothermal performance to develop recommendations on target configurations and technologies needing development, to meet missile defense system flight testing requirements
•Use technical aptitude, technical intelligence reports, and Element requirements, capture and write flight test, target, and countermeasure requirements recommendations for government review and approval
•Translate intelligence reports on ballistic and hypersonic adversary systems into summary products that guide target systems development and requirements
•Use understanding of countermeasure development and application to help frame requirements for flight testing and/or develop countermeasure technology requirements for flight testing
•Apply Missile Defense System subject matter expertise to take conflicting target requirement sets and negotiate a win-win solution across the Elements and Flight Test communities
•Facilitate support of Targets Program Office Systems Engineer activities with other MDA Systems Engineering teams, Prime Contractor, and Other Government Agencies (OGAs) as required
•Obtain & review information from the prime contractor as requested by the Government customer
•Ensure levied requirements flow down, and verify compliance
Required Qualifications
•Master’s degree in STEM field with 12 years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program / project
•Active Top Secret Security clearance
•Must be a US Citizen
•Familiarity with MDA and/or DoD programs and processes
•Familiarity with reading and understanding missile and space intelligence reports
•Ability to present information to the scientific and engineering community and to support presentations to General Officers and members of the Senior Executive Service
•Ability to apply engineering rigor to solve engineering/scientific problems
•Experience writing, presenting, and coordinating product and engineering plans, policies, procedures, and requirements.
•Understanding system interface requirements and requirements management
•Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas and produce and present clear, concise, well-organized, and audience-relevant presentations and documents.
•Reviewing system engineering documentation to ensure specifications meet system needs and are accurate
•Works Independently, as a team member, or leading teams/tasks
•Experience working in a configuration-controlled environment and ensuring proper levels of handling are applied to items
•Travel 10-20%

Security Clearance Requirements:
Must have an active Secret Security Clearance
Education Requirements:
· Master’s Degree in STEM Discipline
Other Requirements:
Must be a US citizen and be able to hold an active Security Clearance at the Secret Level.
