Ignite is currently seeking a driven, detail-oriented Senior Test Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL. In this role you will provide senior technical and advisory assistance to the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Program in the areas of qualification and acceptance testing of missile hardware.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

•Performs and leads vehicle-level test engineering duties to ensure stakeholder requirements and mission needs are satisfied

•Coordinate across government and industry partners in the identification and completion of all test requirements IAW test plans and procedures

•Ensure test plans and detailed step-by-step test procedures satisfy requirements

•Develop mitigation strategies for identified issues and following up to ensure problems are resolved

•Participate in integrated product teams to formulate, establish, and coordinate customer requirements

•Develop and deliver briefings to senior stakeholders.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

•Master's degree in STEM field and 12 years of related professional experience

•Active Secret clearance

•Experience with qualification and acceptance testing of hardware

•Familiarity with SMC-S-016 and environmental (vibration, thermal vacuum, thermal cycling, shock) testing of space systems

•Ability to work independently on a complex system and drive projects to completion.

•Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Desired Qualifications

•Ballistic Missile Defense System (MDS) domain experience working in the Missile Defense Agency (MDA)

•Experience with definition, design, development, verification and validation, and analysis of space hardware environmental testing (vibration, shock, thermal, modal)

•Experience with analysis, test, and systems engineering for one or more elements of the MDS (i.e. Patriot, THAAD, GMD, Sensors, or C2)

•Ability to work with a diverse team of engineers (geographically diverse) of different perspectives, skill sets and backgrounds

•Energetic, motivated, self-starting

•Strong written and verbal communication skills to document and present technical solutions.

 

Security Clearance Requirements:  

Must have an active Secret Security Clearance

 

Education Requirements:

• Master’s Degree

 

Other Requirements: 

Must be a US citizen and be able to hold an active Security Clearance at the Secret Level.
