Responsibilities include:
· Enable end-to-end transport of information through telecommunications networks via routing, switching, varying transmission mediums, and other means.
· Design solutions for the current corporate LAN/WAN systems considering availability, scalability, security and manageability as appropriate.
· Network engineering on a broad range of programs providing overall support for various mission critical networks.
· Responsible for maintaining all documentation, red-line schematics, manuals, data flows, PPPs documents, SLA with third party providers, including requirements documents analysis, design, development, integration, test, and implementation plans and processes.
· Provide recommendations to Operations on what features to enable and how to use them.
· Manage, maintain, and monitor all networks within the USASAC enterprise mission.
· Provide Tier III support to Operations in support of the LAN/WAN services.
· Respond to problem (architecture and design level) tickets associated with LAN/WAN.
· Provide project-based engineering and on-going enhancement engineering support for WAN/IWAN, LAN, and WAN acceleration.
· Perform assessments of business processes and design artifacts provided by Operations or service support staff.
· Work with other departments in designing, staging configuration, implementation and support as applicable.
· Requires demonstrated knowledge of Army Network Administration/Engineering.
· Experience with CISCO and Juniper Switching: STP, RSTP, MST, LAN tuning/ protection, VTP.
· Experience with WAN and VPN Solutions, MPLS, DMVPN Phase1/2/3, IPsec, IPsec/GRE, iWAN and performance routing.
· Experience with WAN Acceleration, SSL.
· Experience with Network Hardware Design and Configuration, Network Troubleshooting, Network Performance Tuning.
· Experience with Cisco WAN/LAN/VLAN technologies and MPLS tagging.
· Knowledge of ITIL Change & Configuration Management.
· Knowledge of Multicast.
· Experience with Network Access Controls (NAC) 802.1x.
· Experience in Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) for new technologies.
· Familiar with DNS/DHCP, IPAM (load balancer) (F5), WAN Optimization and authentication systems SSL VPN.
· Experience with enterprise network management tools such as HPNA, SolarWinds, ACAS, HBSS, Splunk, or similar technologies.
· VoIP implementation and Support Current or former Cisco certifications.
· Exposure to other network monitoring systems and IT Service Management
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Work, Excel, PowerPoint).
· Maintains and contributes to root cause analysis, incident and issue management, redline architecture, and supports all modernization efforts.
· Perform capacity planning and give recommendations for hardware and software purchases needed to meet both current and future needs.
· Install and configure VPN solutions utilizing Juniper technologies.
· Maintain, configure, and patch network (Cisco routers, switches, VTC) and server hardware both physical and virtual (VMWARE) and migration to a virtual environment.
· Knowledge in audio/visual (AV) technologies, maintenance, integration, and implementation.
· Experience with cloud technologies and infrastructure.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:
· A minimum of 3 years of work experience in Network Engineering or related fields
· Must have an active Comp TIA Security certification
Security Clearance Requirements:
Must have an active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Education Requirements:
· Education: BS in Network Engineer or related field. 36 months experience
· Certifications: CCNA, Security CE, and two CEs.
Other Requirements:
Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and hold an active Security Clearance, and an active Comp TIA Security certification
