Job Requirements
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Develop, integrate, and maintain model-based systems engineering (MBSE) artifacts and system-of-systems architectures supporting Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and space warfighting missions.
- Apply MBSE methods (SysML-based) to define end-to-end architectures, including sensor, transport, processing, and decision layers across distributed space and ground systems.
- Collaborate with government stakeholders (e.g., SSDP, SWAC, SDA) and cross-functional teams to define mission needs, capability gaps, and architecture trade spaces.
- Support force design and architecture analysis, translating operational concepts into executable system models and analytic representations.
- Integrate MBSE with modeling & simulation (M&S), data analytics, and prototype environments to enable rapid evaluation of alternatives and mission performance.
- Develop and maintain requirements traceability across the digital engineering ecosystem, linking mission objectives to system architectures, interfaces, and verification artifacts.
- Lead or contribute to the development of digital engineering strategies, MBSE standards, and modeling governance to ensure consistency and interoperability across programs.
- Perform analysis of complex space systems, including SDA sensor networks, tracking architectures, and data fusion pipelines, under realistic operational constraints.
- Communicate technical findings and architecture recommendations to senior stakeholders to support decision-making and future capability development.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and security requirements.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM discipline (Master’s preferred).
- Active TS/SCI clearance (or ability to obtain SCI).
- Demonstrated experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML and industry-standard tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler or equivalent).
- Strong background in Space Domain Awareness (SDA), including sensor architectures, tracking, and space systems integration.
- Experience with systems-of-systems architecture development, particularly in space, missile warning/tracking, or C2 environments.
- Ability to translate operational concepts into technical architectures and analytic models.
- Experience supporting Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), Space Development Agency (SDA), or SSDP missions.
- Familiarity with digital engineering ecosystems, including integration with M&S tools (e.g., AFSIM, STK, MATLAB/Simulink).
- Knowledge of DoDAF/UAF architecture frameworks and application within MBSE environments.
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) and bidirectional traceability.
- Understanding of astrodynamics, orbital mechanics, and space sensor phenomenology.
- Exposure to data analytics, Python-based modeling, or statistical analysis for system performance evaluation.
- Familiarity with SysML v2.0 concepts and emerging MBSE standards.
