This role focuses on advancing electromagnetic warfare operations through modeling and simulation, with a primary emphasis on EMBM-J development, testing, instruction, and supporting EMS IT Modernization efforts.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Support EMBM-J development efforts, with a focus on modeling and simulation activities involving EMSO emitters, transmitters, and receivers, and adapting to evolving user requirements.
- Identify requirements for analytical tools, software, and hardware in current and future M&S environments related to the electromagnetic spectrum.
- Lead and participate in the development and integration of JEMSO M&S capabilities.
- Provide EMSO subject matter expertise to DoW forums, guiding M&S development and supporting EMS IT Modernization Working Group initiatives.
- Bridge existing and future M&S environments to accurately characterize the electromagnetic operating environment from tactical to strategic levels.
- Define and validate new analysis and modeling requirements, including effects-based operations, planning, and analysis; test new product deliveries for JEMSO-integrated M&S applications (CDRL A003).
- Conduct studies and campaign-level analysis using models such as STK, STORM, AFSIM, ASCOT, the PLEXSYS ecosystem, and JCATS.
- Produce technical documentation, reports, and briefings as required.
- Independently explore and self-learn new or in-development EMSO M&S programs; conduct software testing, gather and provide user feedback, develop use cases, track progress, and deliver briefs, demos, or training to JEC staff and stakeholders on EMBM-J and related M&S tools.
- Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, physics, electrical engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience as an EW operator, Spectrum Planner, or in an EMSO related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tactical, operational, and strategic EMSO planning.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operations modeling and simulation development and technical support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of joint doctrine.
- Expertise with STK, STORM, AFSIM, ASCOT, or JCATS models.
- Proven ability to work independently, self-learn new systems, and proactively support program development and feedback cycles.
- Experience with EMBM-J or similar EMSO modeling and simulation systems.
- Experience with the PLEXSYS ecosystem and other advanced M&S tools.
- Experience supporting JEMSO M&S development in joint or combatant command environments.
- Familiarity with DoW EW/EMSO policy and joint doctrine.
- Experience in campaign-level analysis and effects-based operations planning.
- Strong communication skills for technical briefings, live demonstrations, and training.
- Experience collaborating with development agencies (e.g., DISA) and supporting software testing, user feedback, use case development, providing live demonstrations, and training.
