Ignatowski Excavation is expanding our network of experienced heavy equipment operators for part-time, on-call work across our excavation, site development, and material yard operations.
We are a growing sitework and development company with active projects throughout the State of Connecticut, including residential and commercial site preparation, building demolition, utility work, land clearing, grading, and material processing. Work is project-based and weather dependent, and we are building a reliable roster of skilled operators we can call when projects ramp up.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced operators who want flexibility, supplemental income, and the opportunity to grow with a professional and expanding company.
Important: We work all over the State of Connecticut. The ability and willingness to travel to various job sites is required.
Equipment may include:
- Excavators
- Wheel loaders
- Skid steers
- Dozers
- Material handling and processing equipment
- Other sitework equipment as needed
Qualifications:
- Experienced heavy equipment operators (site work experience required)
- Ability to operate safely and work independently
- Ability to read plans, understand elevations, and follow job scope
- Strong understanding of daily equipment care and preventative maintenance
- Perform daily greasing, fluid checks, walk-arounds, and basic service tasks
- Ability to recognize early signs of mechanical issues and report problems promptly
- Take pride in keeping machines clean, maintained, and job-ready
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout Connecticut
- Available to work on short notice when projects are active
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic
- P7 license a plus — additional compensation available for licensed operators
