This role, you will be involved in the coordination of production activities related to Molding department performance goals.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates production activities related to manufacture and/or assembly, testing and packing activities as required.
- Ensures that production activities are carried out in accordance with approved procedures and all non-conformances are dispositional and approved as required prior to further processing. Identifies, and records any problems relating to the product making in blow molds and injection molds.
- Troubleshoots problems with blow mold and injection mold equipment and takes corrective actions.
- Validates new resin, colorant, and additives.
- Develops, creates, and follows up on new lockdown Process Sheets. Verifies manufacturing documents.
- Works closely with Production Supervisors and Operations personnel to achieve and maintain departmental goals.
- Maintains and improves safety and quality (safety devices, guarding equipment, spare parts list, set-up instructions, and troubleshooting protocol).
- Provides training to less experienced process technicians, material technicians and set-up technicians.
- Prepare reports and data collection as directed by immediate supervisor. Complete paperwork in assigned role.
- Operates forklifts and cranes to replace molds. Remains current on forklift training and certification as required by supervisor, manager, and/or Igloo Safety.
- Starts/shuts down machines, Responsible for machine adjustments.
- Conducts minor repairs and changes inserts.
- Responsible for the monitoring and control of assigned process.
- Ensure the production is running in an efficient manner.
- Provides solutions for technical problems associated with assigned processes.
- Interfaces between Tooling, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Quality related to assigned processes.
- Verifies tooling, instructions, and materials prior to use on assigned processes.
- Ensures FPIs (First Part Inspection) are conducted as required. Performs process verification prior to job commencement.
- Helps supervisor assess and identify training needs of less experienced technicians. Familiarizes Technicians and Material Technicians with quality objectives, work criteria and safety hazards.
- Obtains approved disposition for non-conformances prior to process continuation.
- Promotes Safety, Quality and Environmental awareness.
- Ensures safe working practices are followed and all accidents, hazards, near misses, and property damage are reported in a timely manner.
- Ensure work area(s) are maintained in a clean and organized manner.
- Other duties as assigned (reports, measurements, validations, test, set up, minor repairs, etc.)

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
A suitable background would be a solid experience within the following qualifications and experiences:
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalency.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of mold-changing and/or processing plastics experience; Six (6) months experience operating a sit-down gas-powered forklift.
- Experience working on Graham, Sterling, or Milacron Blow Mold machines, Injection Mold machines
- Knowledge of Thermarator’s, grinders, blenders, and liquid additive pumps
- English Language Skills: Able to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
- Math Skills: Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Physical Demands: Able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. multiple times a day during a 12-hr. shift; Bend and stand in difficult positions up to 12 hours; Able to manipulate tools with both hands and stand for long hours.
- Work Environment: Warehouse environment hot and humid in summer months, cold in winter months. High noise requiring use of hearing protection.
- Must have own tools.

Physical Demands & Conditions
(Applicable to Igloo Operators, Technicians, Leaders, and Other Roles in Manufacturing)
Standing & Walking
Roles may involve extended periods (up to 12 hours) of standing and walking, including moving at a brisk pace and occasional stair climbing.
Postural Requirements
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in low or awkward positions during production or maintenance tasks.
Lifting & Material Handling
- Operator-level roles may involve lifting up to 25 lb repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Technician-level roles may involve lifting up to 50 lb multiple times per day, including overhead lifts.
- Where possible, mechanical aids (e.g., hoists, forklifts) are used.
Fine Motor Skills & Tool Use
Use of both hands is required to operate tools, perform adjustments, and handle assembly materials with precision.
Visual Requirements
Sufficient visual acuity (e.g., 20/40 with or without correction) is necessary for tasks involving inspection and safe equipment operation.
Environmental Conditions
- Work is performed in a production setting where seasonal temperatures may range from 100–120°F (with humidity) in summer to cooler conditions in winter.
- High noise levels are common; hearing protection is provided and required.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as ear protection, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and protective clothing may be required depending on the task.
Additional Job Considerations
These roles can be physically demanding, involving repetitive motions and long hours. Technicians may be required to handle heavy molds and materials; use of material handling equipment is provided and encouraged.
