Armed Retail Special Police Officer

Special Police Officers are vital to maintaining public safety and order within the community. Officers are responsible for enforcing laws, preventing crime, and protecting citizens while upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. This Armed Special Police officer position is stationed at a RETAIL location. This position requires a commitment to community service and the ability to handle various situations with tact and authority.

SCHEDULE - 10pm - 6am Thursday-Monday 40 Hours

Responsibilities

• Enforce local, state, and federal laws to maintain public safety.
• Patrol designated areas to deter and detect criminal activity..
• Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents, providing assistance as needed.
• Conduct thorough investigations of crimes, accidents, and other incidents.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation regarding incidents, arrests, and investigations.
• Utilize surveillance equipment such as CCTV to monitor activities and gather evidence.
• Enforce laws and regulations while ensuring the rights of individuals are respected.
• Engage in conflict management techniques to de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
• Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations for effective policing.
• Provide first aid and CPR as necessary during emergencies or medical situations.
• Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance skills in law enforcement practices.

Requirements

• Possess a valid DC Armed Special Police commission (we are able to assist with renewals, if the license is valid)
• Minimum of 3 years of security, police or military experience.
• Must be punctual for required shifts and available to work with little to no callouts.
• Capable of standing on duty and maintaining focus for long periods of time.
• Strong understanding of law enforcement principles, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent report writing skills for documenting incidents accurately and comprehensively.
• Obtain experience or training in conflict management.
• Familiarity with surveillance techniques and equipment is preferred.
• Must pass all background checks
