Business Overview

Our Clients & Strategy team covers Business Development, Investor Relations, External Relations, Sustainable Investment and Brand, Marketing & Communications, including Internal Communications.

It is responsible for all communications to investor prospects, existing investors and their asset consultants, as well as a broad range of other stakeholders, including governments and media.

The Role

  • Support strategic initiatives for the North American Investor Relations (IR) function, partnering closely with regional Global Client Solutions teams (Business Development, Product Specialists, Consultant Relations) and global IR colleagues.
  • Drive process improvement, procedural analysis, and operational excellence across the IR function, ensuring best practices are embedded and scalable across the NAM business.
  • Contribute to how we segment, service, and support clients across North America, with a focus on delivering a best-in-class experience at every stage of the client journey.
  • Play a supporting role in planning and executing global IR events such as the Annual General Meeting (AGM), and help manage our Investor Advisory Committees across various funds.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and transformation efforts impacting the IR function, with a focus on strategic execution and change delivery.
  • Support internal stakeholder engagement and collaboration, acting as a thought partner across teams to ensure alignment and progress on key initiatives.
  • This is not a traditional client-facing IR role — rather, we’re seeking someone who enjoys project-based work, has a strong consulting mindset, and thrives in a strategic and operationally focused environment.

Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate with Global Client Solutions teams (e.g., Business Development, Product Specialists, Consultant Relations) and IR colleagues globally to drive aligned outcomes.
  • Assist with process optimization and procedural enhancements across IR, with a focus on scalable systems, segmentation frameworks, and service models.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of global events such as IFM’s Annual General Meeting, and manage Investor Advisory Committees for key strategies.
  • Support execution of key client engagement touchpoints (e.g., site tours, due diligence sessions thought leadership forums) in coordination with broader teams.

Business Performance

  • Assist with developing stakeholder mapping strategies, segmenting clients and consultants to enhance service delivery and deepen strategic engagement.
  • Act as a key internal connector across investment teams, operations, and global distribution to ensure cohesive and responsive client support.
  • Maintain high-quality internal documentation on client engagement strategies, but not as a primary client relationship manager.

Policy and Process Management

  • Partner with and support the North American IR team, bringing a strategic and high-performance mindset to team culture.
  • Seamlessly integrate into the broader North American GCS team, actively fostering a collaborative and values-driven environment.
  • Serve as a role model for IFM’s values, demonstrating integrity, accountability, and client-first thinking in all activities.

Your Background and Experience

Experience

  • 3-5 years of professional experience, ideally in consulting, strategy, or operations within financial services or private markets.
  • Experience driving strategic initiatives, process improvement, or change management in a complex, cross-functional environment.
  • Exposure to private markets or institutional asset management preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a project-based role with diverse stakeholders across regions and functions.
  • Strong commercial and strategic mindset with a genuine curiosity about private markets and institutional investors.
  • Familiarity with the investment lifecycle and operational processes that support institutional investing.
  • Awareness of global institutional client dynamics, including consultants, asset owners, and key influencers, is beneficial.
  • Comfortable navigating internal systems and tools that support client and investment data.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead initiatives from ideation through execution.
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities for improvement, design new processes, and implement best practices at scale.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and synthesize complex information.
  • Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work across time zones and teams in a fast-paced, global organization
  • Experience planning and delivering high-impact events or managing governance bodies (e.g., advisory boards or committees) is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary, ideally with a business or marketing focus
  • Post-graduate qualification a plus, but not required, e.g. CFA, CAIA
  • Relevant FINRA licences, e.g. Series 7, 63, a plus, but not required
