Position Summary
The primary objective of the Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) is to develop and maintain corporate Oracle databases ensuring data integrity, security, retention, and recoverability. The DBA will design, build, test, and deploy quality database solutions aligned with project objectives, technology architecture standards, and departmental best practices.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing database strategies.
- Administering enterprise-wide data architecture.
- Implementing complex data structures.
- Providing daily management of all corporate databases.
- Creating and administering all database objects from design to deployment.
Essential Job Functions
- Evaluate Oracle patch releases and communicate constraints, issues, and timelines.
- Manage multiple environments (development, test, QA, production) and deploy approved changes.
- Provide 24x7 rotational on-call support, including RCA and preventative actions.
- Proactive database monitoring and issue resolution.
- Perform PL/SQL optimization, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Participate in enterprise system enhancement projects.
- Implement and support high availability architecture (Data Guard, RAC, hot standby).
- Collaborate with development teams for database solutions.
- Create and maintain documentation for database and data architecture.
- Support nightly ETL processing.
- Conduct capacity planning and produce weekly/monthly reports.
- Attend project kick-offs and design reviews for sizing and infrastructure recommendations.
- Develop and implement database security policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
